![]() In PvP there’s a slight risk against other melee weapons, as blocking can prevent the pull but still trigger the second attack making you slightly more vulnerable. ![]() The extra hit helps make Hunger super useful in PvE situations, allowing it to recover more health against groups of enemies. It does make you a little less vulnerable as the normal recovery time gets moved to after this attack instead of after the pull. This adds a second hit that Hunger can heal from, it’s also a stronger hit that cna heal for more. Fatal Attractionįatal Attraction adds an additional spin attack that deals 115% Weapon Damage after pulling a target. Since most enemies in PvP will have higher armor values than most AI mobs, it’s not particularly effective there either, only healing for a small fraction of your health per target. Healing is useful, but you won’t be healing for much without hitting multiple targets. If you’re landing it on multiple foes, it can make a difference. While a 30% ratio on a heal from an attack sounds great, it’s pretty minor overall for 1v1 situations in PvE or PvP. ![]() Hunger heals you for 30% of the damage dealt by Reap. It makes it more reliable and effective at fulfilling its purpose. If you’re using Reap at all, there’s little reason to not get this upgrade. This extra distance actually helps catches foes that may try to Light Roll away from you in PvP. This helps to make Reap more reliable, as the extra range helps to catch foes from a bit farther away. The Collector extends Reap’s range to 8 meters. Combined with Charge and Gravity Well, it contributes to the Great Axe’s catch potential to a high degree. In PvP, this is a skill that’s tough to be without in a lot of matchups, especially against ranged foes. Couple this with the ability to heal off the damage it deals and a second attack, it becomes much more versatile. It also has a longer reach compared to the radius of Maelstrom. Out of the two options for grouping AI enemies up, this is the only one that can also be made to taunt, letting you play an off-tank role more effectively. This skill has an 18 second cooldown, making it the shortest cooldown of the Great Axe’s skills. It can allow you to quickly pull one enemy out of position isolating them, or grouping several enemies together for easy follow up from any number of other AoE skills. This skill tends to be highly favored in PvP, and for good reason. This skill can also be used with a Carnelian Gem to apply a 4 seconds taunt on hit. Reap extends your Great Axe out 5 meters to pull enemies to you, dealing 60% Weapon Damage. The Active skills for the Reaper Tree consist of Reap, Charge, and Execute. The Reaper tree specializes in catching foes while dealing high single target damage. S tier are the good passives, the ones you’re almost always going for if you pick up a skill or want to because it’s useful in many scenarios. A and B Tiers are middling tiers, putting them between the worst passives and the best, leaning one way or the other. C tier is exclusively for the passives that are not that great, either being forced by another upgrade or generally useless. It has a lot of tools to catch enemies as well as prevent them from escaping from you or a group. The Secondary use of the Great Axe is Disruption and Utility. This makes it great at dealing with one or multiple targets in most engagements. While the Great Axe is a slow weapon and may not be the absolute highest DPS, it does however have wide sweeping attacks that can cleave through multiple foes. The Primary use of the Great Axe is in the Damage Category. It’s a strong PvP weapon with its high damage and absurdly high catch potential. Given the nature of grouping enemies up, it has a number of AoE damage tools. The Great Axe is a DPS/Tank weapon designed to specialize in grouping up enemies and hitting them with its incredibly high damage single target focused attacks.
